I offer individualized herbal formulas for your overall wellbeing. While working primarily within the Western herbal tradition of local medicinal tea blends, I also use my understanding of Chinese medicine and herbal energetics to create formulas specifically for you. An herbal consult will include your individualized formula recipe, meeting time to discuss the herbs, dose, preparation and any other pertinent information as well as a phone or email follow-up to see how you're doing with the formula. As you respond and/or your condition changes, follow-ups may be appropriate. The cost of the herbs are separate and vary, but are typically quite inexpensive. I can direct you on how to order the herbs or I can do this at a small additional fee. Generally I will make formulas for use as a tea, though tinctures or capsules are also used. I may also direct you on how to use herbal steams, baths, washes, compresses, liniments or salves.
Herbs are such a wonderful ally in the healing process and I love sharing them with clients! In addition to providing herbal formulas, I am truly happy to share how you can incorporate nourishing, healing herbs into your daily life, diet, teas and gardens. There are many health situations that can be greatly improved with the correct herbs. I feel shiatsu and herbal therapy are perfect complements for fuller healing. While herbs can be helpful with a variety of health concerns, I am currently most interested in these areas of herbal support:
- Women's Health: helping women who experience discomfort with their menstrual cycle or with menopause.
- Stronger Immunity: using herbs to help strengthen resistance, shorten or curtail cold, virus or infection. Education for self care in this area, as well.
- Heart Health: promoting better heart health, reducing likelihood of high blood pressure and cholesterol.
- Peaceful sleep and stress reduction: Herbs can be so helpful and effective here!
