Herbal therapy for your well-being
Along with their medicinal and energetic actions, many believe plants have their own spirit energy. I encourage clients to foster gratitude to the plants and to respectfully request their help with each use. I believe this creates more powerful healing and is nourishing for our own spirits, too, honoring our interconnectedness and the dear gifts that herbs offer.

Herbs have amazing healing abilities and versatility. It really is a joy to work with them. Plants have spent a lot of time with us throughout co-evolution, and so our bodies are well adapted to receive them. During an herbal consult I develop customized formulas specific to your condition and constitution. In addition to traditional assessment practices, I use pulse testing for herbs. This is an effective and intuitive process which allows you to experience your own felt connection to the plants. The herbs you take home may be formulated as tea, tincture, capsules, liniments, salves, syrup, essential oils, flower essence, bath or compress. After a month or so, clients generally return for follow-up and adjustments.
My herbal practice is a blending of Euro-American traditions, informed also by traditional Asian medicine, as practiced with shiatsu. As a community herbalist I value education, self-empowerment and accessibility. So, I enjoy teaching clients about herbal actions, how to make your own herbal products and using herbs for self care in daily life and cooking. What can herbal therapy be used for? Herbal therapy has a very old, rich tradition, as well as a more contemporary, clinical usage, and can support well being in many arenas. It’s also important, however, to understand that herbal therapy is not a replacement for appropriate medical care. I’m happy to assess if your interest in herbal care is within the scope of my practice through an initial phone or email exchange.
